If you’ve been downtown lately, you’ve probably noticed the orange and white construction barriers surrounding the property at the corner of Washington Avenue and Spring Street – directly across the street from the Spring Street Garage.

It appears as if construction has started for two new hotels which will share the same roof.

The Greenville County GIS System shows the Property is owned by “Greenville Spring Street Hotel” and was purchased on 2/29/2012.

WYFF Reported back in 2015 that Plans for a Residence Inn and Springhill Suites were to go before the review board. This was confirmed by a 2016 Article from the Greenville News which indicates the hotel will have two distinct brands under one roof.

The development comes under the JHM Hotels brand, which owns a few dozen other hotels from different brands across the US, but they’re based out of Greenville.

Other hotels under construction downtown include the Hyatt Place just a few blocks down on Broad Street, and a Homewood Suites going in across from Fluor Field at the West End next to Mac’s Speed shop.
