Awhile back, we visited Chattanooga and had breakfast at Maple Street Biscuit Company, so we’re super excited they’re opening up shop in Greenville. They offer a relatively simple menu of biscuit-based dishes and simple, complementary sides. The new location is in the Lowes Foods Plaza near Five Forks in Simpsonville.
The company views itself as neither a franchise or a chain, but a group of community stores. They didn’t open up originally to make a profit, but to make a difference and be a part of the community. They operate on four guiding principles of:
- Comfort Food with a Modern Twist
- Gracious Service
- Immaculately Clean Stores
- Sustainable Business
It sounds great to us, we’re just glad we won’t have to drive 4 hours to enjoy their biscuits, although the traffic on Woodruff Road provides it’s own set of obstacles.
There’s also a second location planned downtown in the old Dixie’s Tavern spot on East North Street. The space downtown is about 4,000 square feet, while the five forks location is a bit smaller, at around 2,600 square feet.

One of our guiding principles at Maple Street is to treat each Guest with Gracious Service. We believe that even the smallest gestures can make a big impact. What small act can you do to help someone today?
