No movement after plans were announced over a year ago to transform the old Handlebar into a restaurant featuring a bowling alley. The announcement of plans to build a Harris Teeter Across the street may reignite interest in the property that sits adjacent to the popular Universal Joint Restaurant. I’m sure I’m not the only one that will hope that they’ll be able to share parking space with Universal Joint.
Update 1/25/16: It appears the original plans were abandoned and a new lease has been signed by the owners of Pour Lounge and the Comedy Zone to turn the space into two separate businesses. An upstairs event space, and an undetermined business on the lower level, which could still be a bowling alley/restaurant.
